The Pacific Motorway upgrade between Mudgeeraba and Varsity Lakes will widen a 5.7km section of the motorway to three lanes in each direction, reducing travel time and congestion, improving safety, and increasing traffic flow.

STR
strategy

Struber’s Engagement specialises were required to engage local businesses and residents to communicate the construction impacts associated with the upgrade. By initiating Struber’s ‘THINK COMMS’ campaign, the project team was able to quickly commence engagement activities to prepare the community for the vital construction works.

STR
tactics

As part of our role, Struber:
• Launched ‘THINK COMMS’, an internal communications and engagement campaign which is designed to raise awareness on community related elements of the project
• Identified items within the work schedule that would have the greatest impact within the community, and determined strategies to mitigate impacts
• Provided proactive on-ground engagement to form key stakeholder relationships, provide first-hand advice and address community concerns.

STR
results

Struber’s dedication to fostering relationships with local businesses and residents provided the client with time and cost savings. Over 50 local residents plus local businesses were met with to identify, workshop and deliver alternative solutions for issues during periods of disruptive work.
Because of Struber’s engagement strategy, work programs were accelerated, and minimal complaints were received from impacted community members and businesses.
