The Toowoomba Second Range Crossing (TSRC) is a 41 kilometre bypass route to the north of Toowoomba and the largest Commonwealth Government commitment to a single road project in Queensland history.

STR
strategy

Struber provided and delivered a communications and engagement program during the Request for Proposal phase, establishing a robust framework for community and industry engagement practices as the project moved from design to construction. The Struber taskforce networked with local stakeholder groups and identified key cross sections within local community and business groups.

STR
tactics

Struber blended traditional engagement practices such as seminars and meetings; with progressive methods of communication including the establishment of an interactive website which captured business contact details and encouraged stakeholder feedback. Additionally, Struber identified and coordinated media events during a transitional phase of the Design and Construct project, providing specialist advice and recommendations to Nexus Infrastructure and government partners to facilitate this period of growth.

STR
results

Our community and industry engagement program satisfied the objectives of the client by ensuring local industry and supplier target rates were met and establishing productive partnerships with the community. The Stuber taskforce provided a defined pathway to a successful communications and engagement program for the construction stage of the TSRC, creating a positive legacy for this critical piece of infrastructure.
