Overview

In response to the Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry, the Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning undertook to deliver a Brisbane River Catchment Flood Study (BRCFS), including hydrologic and hydraulic models and flood hazard estimation for the Brisbane River Catchment. The project required the preparation of a specialised and targeted Communications and Engagement Strategy to manage each phase of delivery. This required the coordination of an integrated flood communications and engagement strategy in coordination with four Local Councils, three different departments and Seqwater. The result was the delivery of a concise Communications and Engagement Strategy in Phase One which was accepted by all study partners and approved by the Steering Committee and the Independent Review Panel. We continued to advise the Department on its implementation for the following year on the implementation of the strategy.
